About the event
Join us for a free site-specific movement workshop and a work in progress show!
Nadya Zeitlin, Art on the Atlanta BeltLine Artist-in-Residence, is inviting you to join her for a work in progress showing and movement workshop on July 14, 5PM @ Old Fourth Ward Tower, 405 North Angier Avenue NE.
While in residency, she is exploring the process and techniques of adjusting to new homes through the lens of a site specific dance performance.
What to expect?
You will watch a short work-in-progress, followed by a workshop involving discussion, a bit of journaling, prompts for creating movement, and co-creating a collective dance phrase together. Afterwards, each participant will have time to create a short performance at the spot of their choice, guided by Nadya and utilizing techniques she will share. This workshop is free to attend.
Do I have to participate in the creative process and showing?
It’s up to you. You can simply come and watch the process though we always welcome feedback from viewers.
Do I have to be a professional dancer to participate?
No you don’t. The most important thing is your curiosity and interest in site specific dance performances!
Please keep in mind that we will have a videographer documenting the process, which will become part of a movie culminating the residency. To ensure that everyone receives enough attention, participation is limited to 10 people. Please register to secure your spot and release it if your plans change. Registration is NOT required if you only plan to watch the workshop.
If you have any additional questions, please reach out to bautanzt@gmail.com.
Free parking may be available around the Old Fourth Ward Park, under the BeltLine on Ralph McGill Boulevard. Paid parking @ Ponce City Market. We encourage carpooling and coming a bit earlier!
